A “Read-And-Talk-With-Me” Book
Two Me’s For Little Monk
Sometimes little kids have big questions. Little Monk is having one of those days and lucky for him, Wise Monk is there to help him make sense of it all. With an elephant, an octopus and few surprises, he learns a little bit more about himself along the way.
This book is about beginning to see and embrace the similarities and differences we see in others and often find within ourselves as well. And hopefully, encourage more love and acceptance for both the outside world and our inside one, too.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
When differences serve as grounds for unkindness and injustice, teaching children how to embrace and celebrate them is vital. This lovely, beautifully illustrated book does just that within the context of a delightful journey between two brave souls!

“Two Me’s For Little Monk” is a true gem of a book. Framed as an ancient fable, the book illustrates the steps to coexisting in harmony despite our differences. It also encourages to learn by listening to one another. Its journey’s end is the achievement of mutual understanding. The discussion questions in the back facilitated this journey in my classroom when we read it as a component of our socio and emotional learning time. Many of our fifth graders pointed out how much the book’s message resonated with them. I could see its benefit in their daily search for emotional and rational balance, especially at that age. I highly recommend it!
– A. Smyrnis (Two Me’s For Little Monk)
The interactive part of the book. finding the turtle on each page, made this beautiful story even more engaging to my 4- and 7-year-old grandchildren. I found it very creative that the Wise Monk used the animals themselves to explain their differences and explore them with continuing questions. There is a wonderful moment, illustrated above, where the characters come to understand that their outward appearances don’t keep them from sharing many of the same feelings. As the book ends, Little Monk returns to the Wise Monk to thank him for the opportunity to learn from him and to spend time with him. I look forward to Book 2 in this Series.
